And of course you can do all the regular explore/trade/fight stuff too. Want to control entire fleet? Sure, just need the money to buy it. Want to build entire trade/industrial empire? You can. Want to blow up stations or wipe out entire systems? No one is stoping you. X series give even more freedom, i did not spend much time playing X4, but X3 with all the drawbacks it had still felt much more 'alive' then ED, and allowed much more freedom in general ( because no multiplayer limitations).
